Cuckoo Clock
Model by Robert J. Lang.
Three-dimentional cuckoo clock with long pendulum and bird popping out.
This model looks extremely complex, but the actual folds are not very hard. Due to the nature of the shape of the paper, it is sometimes a little difficult to see where to start a fold.
Folding tips
In general, make sure the initial folds are precise. If the paper is shorter in length, the pendulum will be shorter.
- After step 40, don’t flip the model over. Flip it over after step 41.
- Step 43/44: these are the lowest ‘inside’ layers.
Paper & size
When folded from a 12.5cm by 87.5cm (1:7) rectangle, the model ends up 5.5cm wide, 14.5cm in height and about 4cm deep.
A larger paper (at least twice as large) is strongly recommended.
Some sculpting of the model with glue might be necessary, depending on the rigidity of the paper.
